Why an atelier, not a studio?
An atelier is a place where a single hand works. The pace is slower, the noise is lower, the relationship between artist and wearer is closer. Onsil chose this word deliberately — not as marketing, but as a working condition.
We do not run a parlor. We do not take walk-ins. We do not flash. Each work is a months-long correspondence that ends, briefly, in a needle.
This is also why we operate from a shared atelier space rather than our own storefront — the cost of a permanent room would be the cost of working faster. We don't want to work faster.
